Blåklint is Swedish for cornflower. It’s one of my favorite summer flowers. As a child I used to look at my aunt’s wedding pictures, she wore braided cornflowers in her hair, and I decided I wanted that too.
For me cornflowers represent childhood dreams of endless summers.
This bracelet is made of vintage sweet water pearls and mother of pearl. The lock is silver.

Hi guys! Sorry for the silence. I’m back home in Finland and have had to get back on track with work, life & everything else. My love I left back in L.A. Hopefully for not too long though.
Also I am now blogging mostly in Swedish, check out my blog Soft landings http://mjuklandningar.blogspot.com/.
It’s still cold and snowy here but at times I’ve felt a whiff of spring! And that got my creative juices flowing again. So stay tuned for pics to come of new pieces for the spring.
I’ve realized my inspiration hibernates for the winter. Maybe I should get myself one of these to speed things up!

on Earth and good will toward men, not only during these Holidays but for the New Year and years to come!
I saw these angels in the window of an antique shop on Abbot Kinney Blvd. near Venice Beach one evening. Unfortunately the store was already closed so we couldn’t go in, but I took this picture from the outside. Three weeks later, on Christmas Eve, I was sent on a mysterious quest by the man in my life, receiving riddles along the way in order to find the next place and clue. One clue being “You must find the place where angels kiss, by the name ‘The perfect piece’”. And that’s when I knew I was getting my angels for Christmas!

And here they are now on my bookshelf. The little boy-angel plays “O, holy night”. I love them!

The inspiration for this bracelet came from one striped gem, which reminded me of the seabird Lom, loon in English. I combined it with beads resembling the rocks and cliffs of our beautiful archipelago in the Baltic Sea, with the charming island of Åland particularly in mind.
Have you ever heard the calling of a loon? It sounds a bit eerie and fateful, like they know something we don’t, which they most probably do…
This bracelet is made of vintage glass beads, onyx, quartz and bakelite.

Little Red Riding Hood is called Rödluvan in Swedish. For me, Christmas is the season of storytelling. On Christmas Eve my sister and I would read aloud to our parents (rather than the other way around) stories from our big book of fairy tales by the Grimm brothers. However in my version, Rödluvan is not fooled by the wolf and saves her grandmother without any outside help…
This bracelet is made of glass, Swarovski crystals, wooden beads, nuts and seeds.

When I went to Ireland I fell in love with the place, the people and all their wonderful myths and stories. And when you are there, you actually expect to see a leprechaun peeking behind a tree or that a rainbow might lead you to a pot of gold. And the shamrocks (also called clovers) are everywhere! If you find a four-leaf clover, hold on to it. According to tradition, each leaf symbolizes something, the first one will bring you hope, the second one faith, the third one love and the fourth one luck. I made this necklace for my friend’s birthday, and I wish her all of these things!
The necklace contains jade and freshwater pearls.

This bracelet contains opals and jade. The color of the jade together with the light sheerness of the opal made me think of Chinese palaces and princesses. And Princess Wencheng was pretty cool. She was from the Tang Dynasty (640 AD) and she was the first peacemaking princess in China, bringing peace between Tibet and China through her marriage. The tibetans worshipped her as a deity. But apart from that she also designed and built temples, introduced the Tibetans to new crafts and brought them literature on medicine, sutra, culture and farming. I’d say she was a pretty awesome princess, way ahead of her time!

Everyone knows the story of Aladdin. But did you know the Arabic name translates into “nobility of the faith”? I think we should have faith that our dreams will come true, if we believe in them, and we don’t need a “djinni’s” magic in order for it to happen…
This necklace contains black onyx and silver.

When you are in Patagonia you can really feel that the sky is a cupola that encloses around you and embraces you. It is amazing. You stand there with nothing but flat land as far as the eye can see, there is no vegetation to talk about, and you can see where the sky meets the earth. I once was lucky enough to go for a horse back ride at an estancia in the southern Argentina, it was one of my most special experiences. It was just me, the horse, the sky and the earth. Impossible to put in words. And to stand under the Patagonian sky on a starlit night is even more amazing. It’s a dome of stardust.
This bracelet contains freshwater pearls and mother of pearl.

When I was a little girl I remember reading The little mermaid by HC Andersen at my grand mother’s house. It was one of my favorite fairy tales. But in the end the mermaid turned into the sea foam of the ocean and it seemed to me the saddest thing in the whole world. (This is in the original story, I know it doesn’t happen in the Disney version…) But now I actually think it’s really beautiful…
The bracelet contains freshwater pearls and mother of pearl.
